Our Story
After being a huge fan of LEGO® for many years, and visiting shops around the world, Macauley decided to write a business plan for one of his own. Having moved to Grantham three years ago, it had become home, and he wanted to bring his work closer to it and finally pursue his passion full-time, alongside Jess.
The idea was simple: combine the LEGO® retail experience with a play experience, much like the LEGO® Discovery Centres found in big cities, but on a smaller, local scale. We also wanted somewhere physical to sell LEGO®, somewhere preloved sets could be seen built and on display, bringing back that old-school feeling of visiting a toy shop.
A year of planning and brainstorming later, the keys were finally handed over, and a lot of LEGO® had already been bought. Brick and Build Grantham was finally a reality.
Meet The Team
Below is an introduction to some of the people you may see in our Brick & Build Grantham store

Macauley
Owner
Hi, I'm Macauley, owner of Brick & Build Grantham. For the last 5 years I have taught History at a secondary school in Leicester, but LEGO® has been a lifelong passion.
As a kid, one of my first sets was the Harry Potter set 4753 Sirius Black's Escape (long since lost to the LEGO® bin, like many childhood collections!). Like most kids, I drifted away from LEGO® as a teenager and into video games, only occasionally getting a set as a gift.
That changed in 2021, when I bought Star Wars set 75251 Darth Vader's Castle to celebrate starting my first teaching job. It's had pride of place on display ever since, and it reignited my passion for good. I became an Adult Fan of LEGO® (AFOL), and my collection has since grown to over 170 sets on display in my home LEGO® room — including the UCS Millennium Falcon, 5 of the original 12 LEGO® Star Wars sets from 1999, and a Hogwarts Grounds MOC that's now moved to the shop as a window display.
Feel free to drop in and chat all things LEGO® or History!
